Cold season is here and it’s only a matter of time until you have to deal with that annoying cold bug. But do not fret just yet! Just follow my tips and you will fight off this thing like a champ. Brr! It’s getting cold here on the East Coast! Soon we will all start noticing those among us that are rocking that “cold season look”: watery eyes, red runny nose and that no energy posture that is so particular to those poor souls that are suffering from the cold bug bite....

Baked Brie En Croute

Whether it’s Thanksgiving or Christmas, I always have Brie en Croute coming right out of the oven when my guests arrive. Sometimes I do struggle to find oven space for the baked Brie when there’s other stuff happening in there, like, uh, the turkey! But the Brie needs to happen and since I don’t have two ovens – One day I WILL have two ovens! – some heavy planning needs to happen beforehand....

Chocolate Petit Gateau

The legend says that this dessert was created because of a mistake. Apparently in the 90’s a French chef – based in New York City at the time – didn’t add enough flour to the cake and also took it out of the oven too soon. And because of that we have this “raw” filling that is the main characteristic of this cake. This sweet treat became very popular in New York and, consequently, in the rest of the world....

Corn Couscous With Basil Feta And Lemon

This simple dish, packed with Mediterranean flavors, consists of only 7 main ingredients and is done in about 5 minutes. Serve it warm as a side dish, or cold as a salad. Another Chopped style post? You bet! Del Monte® challenged me (and you) to cook something delicious out of 4 ingredients: Del Monte® Whole Kernel Corn, basil, lemons and feta cheese. I’m not one to decline a good culinary challenge, so I grabbed the ingredients out of the Chopped basket (just kidding, I went to buy them at the store) and went to the kitchen to experiment with those flavors....

Frozen Peach Bellini

No need to wait until peach season! This Frozen Peach Bellini is made with frozen peaches and is just as delicious. Perfect to toast the New Year in grand style! As 2017 approaches its end, I’m feeling all kinds of emotions. I’m excited for 2018 and everything the future will bring, but I’m just not ready to let 2017 go yet. This year was the best year of my life, because it brought me our wonderful little girl (that is now my whole world)!...

Fun Things To Do With Your Dog In The Summer

Hi, beautiful humans! This is Lola, the little devil English cocker spaniel who is the apple of my parents’ eyes and also the furry vacuum at Olivia’s Cuisine headquarters. If you’ve been following my mommy’s blog, you’ve probably seen me here a few times, talking about some doggy stuff. It has been a while though, so I thought I would pop in here and show you some fun things to do with your dog in the summer....

Homemade Irish Cream

While everybody is obsessed with green everything for St. Patrick’s Day, I’m sitting here, sipping a glass of this creamy homemade Irish cream and feeling really proud of myself. There’s something magical about making your own booze or liqueur. It’s the same with making bread or cheese from scratch. It’s an extra step from just liking to cook, that feeling of “I care so much about food/drinks that I made this with my bare hands, even though I could have gone to the store to get something similar”....

Mango Cream

I love mangoes! I haven’t really put much thought into “what’s my favorite fruit”, but I think Mango is a strong candidate. One thing I have to say, though, is that mango in Brazil is a thousand and two times better than here in the States. :( Sorry, American friends! And I even tried searching for the mango that I like (the one that is orange, really sweet and soft inside and green and red on the outside) to no success!...

Potato Galette With Caramelized Onions Bacon Goat Cheese And Rosemary

Focus on: “rustic”. Seriously, whoever decided to start using the word “rustic” as a synonym to “not looking too professional” has my heart forever. ❤️ Yes, I am perfectly aware of my baking limitations. The good news: this potato galette might look homemade (as opposed to looking like it was made by a famous french pastry chef), but it tastes INSANELY amazing! You gotta trust me on that! And that’s the beauty of a galette, which is another word for “rustic tart”....

Sweet Potato Chili

I’m so glad chili season is upon us! For this chili, I used both the ROTEL chunky diced tomatoes with green chilies and the Hunt’s crushed tomatoes that I purchased at my local Walmart. ROTEL has a mild variety of that same product, so if you’re not into spicy food, just get that instead. I like using canned tomatoes because they make my life so much easier! I’m already so stressed with everything else, at least dinner making needs to be semi- therapeutic, right?...

Almond Apple Pie

(This post is sponsored by SweeTango.) Helloooo, rustic pie! And calling it “rustic” is a way of making myself feel better about not having those magnificent pie decorating skills. Braids, lattice, leaves…Oh, they look so gorgeous on Pinterest! But in my kitchen? They usually look like a 5 year old attempted to play with pie dough. Just kidding! A 5 year old would do a much better job! And that’s why “perfecting pie crust” is high up on my list of things I want to get better at....

Breadmaker Giveaway

Who doesn’t love the smell of freshly baked bread??? I think it’s one of the best smells in the whole world! Everyone should get to have fresh baked bread, even those on specialty diets. Well, now you can in the comfort of your own home! This is the same type of bread maker Tim gave me for Valentine’s Day last year. It is the best machine on the market and I’m very excited to give it to one of my beloved readers....

Chocolate Pudding Dessert Parfait

(This post is sponsored by Kozy Shack. However, all opinions, content and chocolate pudding obsession are my own!) Excuse my lack of modesty, but I’ve seriously outdone myself with this dessert parfait. It is absolutely to DIE FOR! Perfectly creamy and sweet with a little crunch from the cashew crumble! Even Tim, who is not into sweets, couldn’t wait for me to finish photographing these little babies so he could dig in....

Coq Au Riesling

(This post is sponsored by the folks at The Seeker Wines, but my love for their Riesling is all my own!) I simply live for dishes like this! Hearty, comforting chicken or beef that cooks for a long time and taste like… love. Yes, that’s the thought I was looking for. This Coq au Riesling tastes like love! Yesterday, when Tim got home from work, he told me he could smell something delicious from the hallway....

Dessert Nachos

I hope you guys had a wonderful Halloween and that you maybe made one of my Halloween themed recipes! As you all know, I worked during Halloween, so I couldn’t celebrate. :( But I still got to semi-dress up (I wore a witch hat to work) and have a little fun. Also, we dressed our dog Lola as a little witch and it was a huge success! Everybody stopped her in the streets, complimenting her costume....

Fried Mac And Cheese Balls

We’re snowed in! Yay! The mayor of NYC declared Snowmaggedon and said that this could be the worst snow storm of NYC’s history. Maybe it’s true, maybe he’s exaggerating… But Tim got home early and he might stay home tomorrow! :) So that would be some much needed quality time together, since our schedules are usually so different. I saw some of my friends were complaining on Facebook about being bored because they were trapped at home all day....

Homemade Fudgy Brownies Recipe

Chocolate lovers should also check out my Birthday Chocolate Cake recipe and my Chocolate Lava Cakes. You can thank me later! :) The BEST homemade brownies! Are you a center brownie person or an edge brownie person? I know this is a polarizing topic, but I figured I’d share my story. I used to be a center brownie lover until this recipe converted me. It turns out that the dry, too chewy edge brownies I used to dislike were actually overbaked brownies....
